Message Boards Info

The message boards are a welcoming place for members to ask questions, share ideas, develop and strengthen research relationships and to share old and new techniques and discoveries. A few topics have been set up initially to guide those in directing their discussion to an appropriate area. Members have the ability to add specific discussions within the topics by adding new threads.

Please be courteous but honest  in your exchange of views. There should always be a "free will offering" of information and knowledge so that everyone develops a better understanding of individual or group research areas. Members should take the greatest possible interest in helping those who are just beginning their journey into family history research.

Discussion areas include:

  1. New Members. This discussion area is a place for new members to introduce themselves.

  2. History and Reference. If you are a researcher and GANS member of long standing, this topic area will be the one you will start with to discuss and develop further research interests.

  3. Visual Aids to Research and Writing. This topic area focuses on providing help in finding the best maps, charts, crests, or pictures other than family photos.

  4. General Discussions. This discussion area can be used by members to coordinate meetings, exchange information about localities outside genealogy-related topics or to offer suggestions for adding or changing the general discussion topics.
Your feedback is important to us. Please address any concerns you may have to us by email.

Note: You WILL NOT be notified by email, if there is an answer in this message board. Please check back regularly for activity on any discussions!
