The GANS Shop is where we make various products available and you can buy tickets for events during the year. We also organize some events which either are so big as to have their own website - like our Spring Virtual Conference - or don't require a ticket - like our monthly lectures.
A few years ago, GANS launched a collection of local history books for sale, both straightforward histories and historical novels. There is a mix of topics and genres, suitable for different interests and aptitudes. These books can give the reader more context about the social character of the Nova Scotian society of the past than can be gained from genealogical records alone. Some of these books will also provide access to colourful events or personalities of past generations. We discontinue our local history books after we have been selling them for a time, and introduce new ones as they become available.
As a result of the new tariff structure of 35% for Canadian imports introduced by President Trump, it is, unfortunately, no longer feasible for us to ship to the United States. We are still happy to ship to other countries and to other provinces in Canada. If you are in Nova Scotia, you can avoid shipping fees by picking up your order right at GANS. If you wish to do so, please do not order through the website. Send an email to info@novascotiaancestors.ca listing the items you wish to purchase. We can confirm they are in stock and you can make arrangements to make your payment and pick up your order in the GANS office.

Shipping costs are added to the price of the item itself. They vary somewhat between each kind of item. The shipping expense, if any, is listed below the price of each item.

Payment:
We use Paypal to process orders on this website. If you have, or are willing to set up, an account with Paypal, it works well. While Paypal offers payment by credit card only, a lot of people have difficulty with that method. We, therefore, also accept cheques, payments by credit card over the phone, and, if you are Canadian, can accept eTransfers through <deposit@novascotiaancestors.com>.
